Make your road trips a little bit less boring by trying out these games next time you’re out on the road. These games can help keep your child’s brain active.

Make Your Road Trip a Bit More Entertaining

Are you hitting the road with your family this summer? Let’s face it, keeping children entertained on a long drive is not an easy task. You can always take books or play a movie on your tablet or iPad, or you can try some road trip games. There are plenty of ways to keep your child’s mind active during their vacation. Here are some ways you can do just that while you’re out on the road.
  1. Name that tune: The first thing you need to do is pick a music genre or theme. For instance, you can choose classic rock, TV, or movie themes, musicals, or Disney. The first player has to hum, whistle, or sing a song and the rest of the players have to guess which song it is. The player who gets it right goes next.
  2. Geography: Start by deciding on a theme: cities, states, countries, rivers, etc. Let’s say your topic is countries. Player one starts by saying the name of a country like Sweden, the next player has to name another country starting with the last letter of the first, for instance, Denmark, then another would say Kenya, and so on.
  3. Count the...: This game can last your whole trip! All you need to do is to count. You can count how many red cars you see on the road or how many animals. You just need to shout out the thing you’re counting every time you see it.
